Startups have unique challenges because their success and growth depend directly on meeting their headcount plan, quickly hiring great talent, and retaining their leaders. Which key figures should people teams monitor on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis? We've put together the most important KPIs and visualizations that startups use in Series A and B phases.
What does this dashboard include?
Recruiting
Time to fill: Measures how long it takes to fill an open position from the time of the advertisement until the contract is signed by the candidate.

Time to Hire: Measures the time from receipt of the application until the offer is signed by the candidate.

Engagement & Productivity
Absenteeism rate: Measures the number of days off an employee has as a percentage of total working days. This metric may indicate engagement, motivation, or health issues that should be addressed.

eNPS (Employee Net Promoter Score): A scoring system that allows employers to measure employee satisfaction and loyalty.

Retention (employee retention)
New Hire Retention: Percentage of new employees who are still with the company after a fixed period of time (here: probationary period). This key figure measures how effectively the company is retaining new employees in the early stages.

Regrettable Attrition: Describes the loss of valuable employees. This type of turnover is particularly painful as it means the loss of productive employees with a positive impact on company culture.
